Commencing with the dimensional checks, HSS tool bits are subjected to hardness tests relevant to the various grades and then go through micro structural examinations with the help of a metallurgical microscope to ensure even distribution of carbides. Statistical samples are drawn from the production batches and are actually subjected to cutting tests.
